The Rebbe stands wrapped in his tallis, drawn up over the head as at hakafos on Simchas Torah, and holds the Sefer Torah close against his chest. The two rolled scrolls face the viewer, built up in thick spirals of crimson and deep rose, the wooden staves marked by small points of orange and silver at their centers. The eyes are lowered toward the Torah. The face is worked in yellow, green, and coral, laid down in short strokes of the knife; the beard rises in ridges of lavender, rose, and white.

Around the figure the ground breaks into radiating strokes of white, blue, yellow, and rose, light moving outward from the tallis as if the moment itself were in motion. Deep green stripes cross the folds at the right shoulder. Painted in 2024, the work recalls the Rebbe as generations saw him on Simchas Torah, the Torah held not as an object but as a partner in the dance. It now lives in a private collection.
